SONA, the trade only brand from Sprue Safety Products, will be showcasing its latest range of smoke, heat and carbon monoxide alarms at the upcoming Elex Show 2016 at the Ricoh Arena in Coventry.
Being a dedicated trade show for electrical contractors, Elex provides SONA with the ideal platform to exhibit its innovative range of alarms specifically launched to deliver enhanced levels of protection, whilst being simple to specify, install and maintain.
The SONA range consists of a mains-powered Thermoptek Multi-Sensor smoke alarm, Thermistek heat alarm, carbon monoxide (CO) alarm and an alarm control unit, all offering intelligent sensor technology and faster detection of smoke, heat and CO to help alert householders to danger more quickly.

The entire SONA range can be wirelessly networked, using SONA’s Wi-Safe 2 RF communication technology with a simple two-touch connection process, keeping installation time to a minimum. In the event of any one single device being triggered, all other alarms in the network will sound with the same alarm pattern, making it easier to identify whether it is a fire or CO incident. Up to 50 alarms can be meshed in one network, with the option of hard-wiring the alarms also available.
The SONA smoke alarm incorporates the latest Thermoptek Multi-Sensor technology, as used by over 90% of the UK Fire & Rescue Services, for detection of both fast flaming and slow smouldering fires in a single alarm, whilst the SONA heat alarm uses innovative Thermistek technology to constantly monitor the rate of temperature rise, warning householders about the presence of fire faster than other heat alarms.
Completing the range is a wireless CO alarm with a sealed for life battery. Tamper-resistant and easy to install, the alarm features highly advanced sensing technology to accurately measure low-levels of CO.
Also on display will be SONA’s range of assisted living products, including the low frequency sounder and strobe and vibrating pad, designed to help vulnerable residents, as well the innovative Stove Guard that prevents kitchen cooker fires effectively and intelligently.
Jeremy Roberts, Trade Sales Director, said: “At SONA, we constantly strive to design and develop innovative solutions that not only help to keep specification as simple as possible for contractors, but are able to monitor more risks when compared to traditional solutions, offering the highest levels of fire and carbon monoxide protection.
“The Elex show is a great opportunity for electrical contractors to seek expert advice from our technical team as well as seeing first hand the benefits our new SONA range can offer.”
