‘Elegance’ has been bought to the University of Warwick’s School of Engineering courtesy of Marshall-Tufflex’s Elegance 110 aluminium profile which has been installed in two refurbished teaching laboratories, delivering functionality and aesthetics thanks to its strength and bespoke appearance.

Installed by the school’s own electrical technicians and supplied by Edmundson Electrical, Elegance 110 aluminium, together with Marshall-Tufflex aluminium bench trunking, provides power and data connections to laboratory workbenches for computers and test equipment.
Hard-wearing and lightweight, Elegance 110 aluminium is perfect for educational projects, where a robust yet stylish cable management solution with extra mechanical strength and a higher cable capacity is required. Jonathan Meadows, Senior Electrical Technician at the School of Engineering, said: “The design of the benches meant we had limited fixing points, but the strength and rigidity of the Elegance 110 aluminium enabled us to install the system without having to provide additional support.
“Marshall-Tufflex also supplied a custom paint finish in RAL 7035 Light Grey and RAL 7016 Anthracite Grey to match the new benches, greatly enhancing the overall appearance of the project.
“Apart from the look and functionality, we also required a quick turnaround, and Marshall-Tufflex was able to supply the trunking within a very tight timescale - a major factor in enabling us to complete the project on time,” Mr Meadows concluded.
Elegance 110 aluminium is an excellent choice for office and educational areas requiring stylish yet robust trunking. It is particularly effective where a high quality of screening performance and security is required and is available in two heights - 110mm and 170mm. Both are lightweight but with a mechanical strength and impact-resistance that is superior to steel. The systems are Cat 6, 6a and Cat 7 compliant.
