Ecobuild 2017 has launched an industry-wide call for research that highlights the latest UK built environment innovations, to showcase at this year’s exhibition.
In partnership with the ARCC network – a UK-wide platform to develop and exchange knowledge and evidence to inform policy and practice, funded by EPSRC – Ecobuild’s organisers will showcase the latest innovative ideas and initiatives from both academic and commercial research and development teams at 2017’s event.
Submissions could include future materials and processes in early development stages, the improvement and innovation of more sustainable solutions for the construction industry, or insight into the application of materials used in other sectors for the future of the built environment.
The call for entries will close on 19th September 2016, and a judging panel will shortlist the research. The chosen submissions will form part of Ecobuild’s Future Materials show floor feature, uniting senior-level professionals with the most outstanding innovations in sustainable design and building. Demonstrations, workshops and seminars explaining the practical application of these developments for the industry will all take place at the event, in an area designated ‘The Campus’ to spotlight product innovation, future materials, processes and technologies.
Martin Hurn, Brand Director at Ecobuild, commented: “We place a firm focus on listening to our audience’s preferences and priorities, to enable us to evolve our exhibition each year. Our latest audience insights have shown that, overwhelmingly, attendees want to see new and exciting product innovations that directly affect the way they work now, and in the future.
“We’ve therefore launched the search for innovations from both academic and commercial research and development teams across the UK. With Ecobuild’s audience of leading architects, specifiers, contractors and manufacturers, it’s the ideal platform to showcase revolutionary research.”
Briony Turner, Knowledge Exchange Manager for the ARCC network added: "As a knowledge exchange network, we're committed to sharing and making more accessible cutting edge research that is of practical use to built environment practitioners.
“By working with Ecobuild on this dedicated show floor feature, we can highlight future materials and processes, design expertise and new market models of manufacturing to ensure that the UK continues to be a world leader in delivering tomorrow’s sustainable built environment solutions.”
The deadline for entries is mid-day, September 19 2016. For more information and to register your interest, go here.
