Ketley Clay pavers add value and aesthetic appeal

A Kent County Council scheme has used Ketley clay pavers in a series of improvements designed to shift priority from vehicles to pedestrians in Tonbridge town centre and thus provide a more pleasant environment for shoppers.

This scheme has used traditional Ketley Staffordshire clay paving to create a more attractive town center and a better shopping experience for the pedestrian.

Square edged paving was already in use in more traditional parts of the town and Ketley were able to provide the best match.

Ketley’s range of high quality, plain and patterned paving has a depth and consistency of Staffordshire clay colour that will not fade over time. Their strength and durability is unrivalled and ideal for heavy use in public pedestrianised zones.

With a full range of complementary specials and fittings including drainage channels, kerb units and tactile paving, Ketley provide solutions that add value ad beauty to any built environment.

In Tonbridge, previously narrow pavements have been significantly widened and paved in a random mix of 65% Red, 25% Brown Brindle and 10% Staffs Blue Clay pavers and loading bays have been constructed and demarcated by using contrasting plain Staffordshire blue pavers in a different laying pattern.

Pedestrian crossings have also been improved and a table-top feature introduced, and these have been highlighted using contrasting Ketley blister and corduroy clay paving on the edge of the footway so that it is easy to detect the carriageway underfoot, as well as visually.
