Single ply roofing could increase its impact on modern architecture and design, by specifiers taking advantage of a series of RIBA-approved resources.

Now, practices can book any - or all - of the series, covering single ply PVC roofing, PVC roofing and the environment, and green roofs, to learn how to achieve the best from the material, and how it has evolved to deliver high-rated green credentials.
“The roof is the fifth façade, and can play as key a role in the overall building aesthetics as any of the walls,” claims Simon Hancock MIoR, Protan’s UK Technical Manager. “Single ply has developed significantly over recent years. It is now A+ rated under the Green Guide, and delivers a long-lasting, weatherproof solution beyond ‘flat’ roofing.
“The perception is, still, single ply/PVC = flat roofing. Our CPDs aim to help specifiers appreciate the potential for ‘flat’ roofing, but to make them look beyond, into another dimension for roof design in new build or refurbishment, commercial, industrial and domestic projects, that meets all the considerations and pressures from today’s clients.
There are additional benefits too: as the CPDs are RIBA verified, they count towards architects’ professional learning, and we will provide lunch so attendees don’t go hungry whilst they learn!”
