Security specialist Yale has launched the first retrofit multipoint lock in the market that allows users to maintain accreditation on existing PAS 24 doors, without needing to fit exactly the same lock as was supplied with the door.
This gives a distinct advantage to trade professionals as they are now able to fit a suitable replacement on the first visit from a small range of van stock, rather than needing to order a lock and go back for a repeat visit to complete installation.
PAS 3621 Doormaster, a new addition to Yale’s Doormaster range, will maintain PAS 24 accreditation on existing doorsets providing there are no alterations made to the doorset. It can also upgrade the level of security when replacing an existing multipoint lock on doors fitted with a lower specification.
PAS 3621 is a direct multipoint equivalent to the BS 3621 single point standard and aims to provide a benchmark for selecting appropriate products with the correct level of security. As with BS 3621 locks, PAS 3621 locks are tested to the equivalent side load forces and test methods.
Hazel Whittingham, Yale Product Manager, comments: “The Doormaster range has proven to be a huge success thanks to many consumers’ attitude of ‘repair rather than replace’. The British Kitemark approved PAS 3621 Doormaster is an exciting addition to the range, offering the best level of security for a replacement multipoint lock set.
“To achieve the maximum level of security, the PAS 3621 Doormaster should be used in conjunction with a TS007 3 star cylinder and handle solution.”
Designed with the replacement market in mind, The PAS 3621 Doormaster is Secured by Design approved, the police initiative for designing out crime, and recommended in the National House-building Council (NHBC) and Risk, Insight, Strategy & Control Authority (RISC) guidelines.
The PAS 3621 Doormaster is fully backed by Yale’s customer service and technical teams, and comes with a 10 year guarantee for customer peace of mind.
