The Hyde Group joins forces with Barratt London in Harrow

The Hyde Group has teamed up with Barratt London, as joint venture partner, to develop a multi-million pound regeneration site in the heart of Harrow, providing 318 homes and a rejuvenated town centre.

Mike Johnson, the Hyde Group’s development director said: “Barratt London has a reputation for delivering homes to the highest standard of design and construction.  By working together, through a joint venture partnership, we can share risk and reward to deliver much needed new homes and exceptional educational and leisure opportunities for Harrow.”

Alastair Baird, Barratt London’s regional managing director, said: “It’s a privilege to be working with the Hyde Group on this world class scheme which will deliver exciting new facilities and amenities to Harrow town centre, as well as new homes.”

Hyde has also worked closely with London Borough of Harrow to secure a planning consent within the Harrow Housing Zone, on the site of the former Royal Mail sorting office in College Road.

In addition to the 318 new homes, the development, which is adjacent to Harrow-on-the Hill Tube station, will deliver prime retail space, a public square and a 1450m2 central public library which will provide a new civic focus in Harrow and provide new facilities for adults and children, plus space for business incubation and education areas.

All apartments will feature private balconies with superb views and selected homes will have access to roof terraces.

The buildings and public realm have been developed in partnership with Skidmore, Owings and Merrill (SOM) and Gross Max - internationally renowned architects and landscape designers. The design will be a series of three buildings, reaching a maximum height of 20 storeys. The scheme is expected to be completed in spring 2018.
