Skyfold, the vertical-rising, fully automatic, acoustic moveable partitioning wall has won a Product Innovation award in the 2015 World Architecture News (WAN) awards.
The award for the Building Automation/Control Systems sub-category was presented at a gala event in Germany. Judges voted Skyfold’s new Rw59dB the most innovative operable wall; an accolade based on an installation by Style Partitions at Henderson Global in London.
The WAN AWARDS Product Innovation category is a major international competition that celebrates and promotes the best in architectural products & materials, attracting entries from all over the world.
“We’re delighted that Skyfold has won this prestigious award,” said Julian Sargent, group managing director of Style, and exclusive partners to Skyfold in the UK. “Working with architects, Pringle Brandon Perkins & Will, and the contract managed in-house by Henderson TIAA’s own team, this was the first installation of the new Skyfold Rw59dB in the world.
“We are understandably elated that this incredible moveable wall, which is housed discreetly in the ceiling cavity and is bordering on a soundproofed solution, has achieved such a global accolade.”
Style has been working with Skyfold for over 10 years in the UK, and last year Style celebrated its 100th installation at Telefonica in London. With demand soaring, Style is close to achieving its 200th Skyfold installation just 12 months on – such is the rapid increase in specifications.
“As awareness of Skyfold grows, so does demand,” said Julian. “And if we continue to bring award winning innovative products, such as the Rw59dB model, into the UK market we’re anticipating the popularity of Skyfold to accelerate significantly in the coming years.”
