Setcrete’s new High Performance floor levelling compound was found to be the perfect product for a problematic flooring installation at a home in Wythall, near Birmingham.
By using Setcrete’s specialist, fibre-reinforced High Performance product, contractors were able to apply the levelling compound over both a plywood and a sand/cement screed subfloor in a single application.
Contractors from James Peck Property Services were called in to level a range of subfloor types throughout the ground floor of the property, before installing new floorcoverings. The owners of the property had never been satisfied with the join between the kitchen and the dining area, so it was vital that the newly installed floor was perfectly smooth and level throughout both rooms. This meant installing the same levelling compound over both a sand/cement screed subfloor, and a plywood subfloor.
By using Setcrete’s High Performance levelling compound, contractors were able to complete a perfect flooring installation, with a smooth, professional finish, in a matter of hours.
The ‘flexible’ properties of Setcrete High Performance make it suitable for use over a wide range of subfloor types, including sand/cement screeds and, crucially, plywood. After over-boarding the wooden subfloor with flooring grade plywood and applying Setcrete Acrylic Primer, contractors were able to apply High Performance onto the entire refurbishment area, including over both wooden and concrete subfloors, in a single application.
This significantly reduced the time and effort required to complete the job. Furthermore, the rapid-setting properties of Setcrete High Performance meant that the newly levelled subfloor was ready to receive new floorcoverings in just 4 hours.
