SAS System 320 offers a cost-effective and flexible ceiling solution

SAS International is introducing System 320, an acoustic tile, lay-in suspended ceiling system without a traditional supporting grid.

This feature realises significant cost and time benefits compared to the additional installation and material costs associated with grid systems.

Intended for use in corridor or plasterboard surround applications, the system tiles can be provided in dimensions to suit most building modules, allowing for greater flexibility.

Ideal for commercial office and residential sectors, System 320 satisfies acoustic demands set out in the Building Regulations, Approved Document E. Non-woven acoustic fleece, acoustic pad and plasterboard options allow for a flexible, cost-effective approach to acoustic control.

System 320 was specified for the Royal Mail office at 100 Victoria Embankment. It is available with ultra-micro perforations (≤1mm) offering a brighter ceiling appearance. Another option is pre-formed apertures for service integration during manufacturing, improving aesthetics and minimising installation times. Removal of the grid facilitates simple, ‘no tools’ access to services, improving access overall. Depending on the tile dimensions, void depths can also be kept to a minimum.

System 320 can be suspended by a range of suitable SAS International trims or any suitable flanges, including linear lights and grilles.

The comparatively lightweight tile (7kg m²) is available in sizes of 250-600mm (width) x 474-3000mm (length). For the sake of ceiling aesthetics, SAS would recommend a tile no larger than 1.4m2. Larger tiles are achievable, but to remain within industry tolerance guidelines, additional support for rigidity may be necessary.

If desired, optional 9x3mm black foam gaskets are available to create a recessed edge feature.
