Successfully installed in an exclusive 44 bedroomed 4* boutique hotel in London, Powerstar, the world’s leading voltage optimisation system, is delivering annual savings of nearly £10,000 per annum.
Housed in a distinctive Edwardian building in Marylebone, the Ten Manchester Street Hotel, part of The City and Country Hotel Group, is benefitting from a reduction in energy consumption of 21.4%.
The Powerstar system, which was installed with circuit protection, goes some way towards helping the hotel meet its corporate social responsibility objectives, reducing CO2 emissions by 44.9 tonnes a year - the equivalent of 85,449kWh.
Jason Dalgarno, maintenance manager of the Ten Manchester Street Hotel commented: “We are highly delighted with the service provided from Powerstar and the great savings we have achieved, resulting in such a low payback period."
Designed and manufactured in the UK, Powerstar is the only voltage optimisation system in the world to be granted a patent for its design. Powerstar’s unique design means that regardless of the type of load connected, savings will be achieved through the negative power created, as the system returns the excess voltage in terms of real negative power, which is deducted from the grid input power.
In essence, any excess voltage above the Powerstar set point is returned back to the National Grid, which flows towards the supply and is then subtracted from the incoming power.
