Styroclad eco range sees sales soar

An upturn in the construction industry has led to a major increase in demand for Styroclad eco, the weather resistant panel that is designed to insulate an upstand or parapet in new or refurbishment roofing applications, helping to reduce cold bridging.

Danny Phelan, Sales Manager for Panel Systems, said: “We have certainly noticed an increase in enquiries from main contractors over the last few months as ensuring energy efficiency in existing and new buildings becomes ever more important.

"Styroclad eco is proven to make a huge difference to the thermal performance of a building and its environmental credentials are also becoming widely recognised.”

As a factory-bonded composite panel, Styroclad eco is made up of 6mm autoclaved fibre-cement board combined with high performance Styrofoam insulation to meet specific U Value requirements.  The panel offers excellent impact resistance and is designed to withstand extreme climatic conditions.

Ideal for projects where sustainability is important, Styroclad eco is produced from the technically advanced Styrofoam LBA that uses recycled carbon dioxide as the blowing agent, making it suitable for applications requiring an enhanced BREEAM rating. It also has an ODP of Zero and a GWP of one.

The new brochure, which is aimed at specifiers and contractors, contains guidelines on how the product should be installed, handled and how it can be decorated. It also gives technical details on board size and thermal performance.

The facing board is Class ‘O’ to Building Regulations and has Class 1 surface spread of flame to BS 476 Part 7.  Styroclad eco is available in board sizes 1200mm x 600mm to maximise coverage and is easy to cut and lightweight, which enables speedy dry installation.

Styroclad eco comes with a smooth grey surface and requires no further finishing, but it can be painted, if required, using an alkali resistant paint or emulsion.

Styroclad is extremely lightweight and easy to use and can be fixed directly or indirectly to an external structure using suitable mechanical fixings.

Panel Systems is one of the UK’s leading manufacturers of building boards, insulation products, architectural and decorative panels.
