Johnstone’s Trade continues to set the benchmark for total coatings solutions after supplying the complete External Wall Insulation system for apartment blocks owned and managed by Cardiff City Council.
Installed by contractors Jefferies, working under main contractor Vinci, six apartment blocks are now fully protected, with a further six underway as phase two of the project approaches completion.
Johnstone’s EWI systems are one of the best ways to protect a building and its residents from the elements. The systems insulate properties, reduce energy costs and keep inhabitants warmer, as well as providing buildings with a highly durable finish.
The finish used for this project is Johnstone’s Stormshield Silicone Enhanced Render; a high performance thin coat render formulated from acrylic resins and silicone additives to offer the perfect balance of affordability and durability. It also benefits from being available in a wide range of colour choices.
Richard Ferguson, technical manager at Cardiff City Council, said: “We all agree that the blocks have been vastly improved by the application of the Johnstone’s EWI system, with a crisp, clean look for tenants to enjoy. Aesthetically, it’s something that we’re all very happy with.”
