One hospital waiting room has become a nicer place to be after an eye-catching refurbishment that not only looks great but also protects walls from ongoing damage.
York Teaching Hospital NHS Foundation Trust commissioned artistic wall protection from manufacturer Intastop Ltd after its MRI waiting area at York Hospital was suffering damage from the backs of chairs scuffing the perimeter walls leaving unsightly and unhygienic levels of damage.
“We needed to protect the walls and brighten up a waiting area” said Jen Bennison Capital Projects Manager for the Trust. “Digi-print Sheet by Intastop Ltd gave us the flexibility we needed to be able to utilise our own images making it a really personalised area whilst at the same time delivering the impact protection for our walls.”
Intastop Digi-print Sheet is suitable for doors, walls or a mural scheme and can be utilised in a variety of situations. It offers scratch resistant surfaces and also an extra hard coating making it perfect for high traffic areas too such as front of house and waiting rooms. Furthermore, as this product is completely bespoke, any size and colour scheme can be adopted giving clients a greater degree of flexibility.
The sheet at York Hospital was printed with a series of photographic images that were taken by staff from the MRI Unit which captured nature and the great outdoors. Any images or logos can be printed onto the sheet using vivid colours and the durable wipe clean surface is easy to care for and hygienic.
“We are so pleased with the product and it has really made a difference to a previously bland waiting room,” said Jen. “It’s great to be able to get something that is not only hard wearing but aesthetically pleasing too and we wouldn’t hesitate to recommend or use Intastop products again.”
Sarah Barsby Marketing Director Intastop Ltd concluded; "It is always interesting to hear how our products are utilised in varying design schemes and this project accurately demonstrates the flexibility that our Digi-print Sheet brings to a host of clients and situations. The use of photographic images also allows clients an even greater degree of personalisation and really opens up the ways that Digi-print Sheet can be used creatively.”
