Internationally renowned designer and manufacturer Hunter Douglas will be exhibiting at the ground-breakin Architect@Work event in London in January 2015.
Architect@Work, which takes place at London Olympia on January 21st and 22nd 2015, provides a new format for companies to showcase their products and services.
Hunter Douglas will be displaying its innovative BXD ceiling, flat folding shutters and QC200 facades at the event.
The event format offers a unique layout and in order to ensure optimal contact between exhibitors and visitors, visitors to Architect@Work are automatically led along a route that winds its way through small, uniform stand units.
Created by C4 -Creative Fo(u)r, first contact takes place on the stand. For Hunter Douglas this provides an opportunity to demonstrate its BXD ceiling panels, which offer significant design opportunities due to the variety of depth and width option, together with many different paint finishes.
The panels represent a series of building blocks that can be creatively combined in many different ways. The new BXD panels give ceilings a smooth look, but can also offer the scope to create a relief within the ceiling plane. What’s more, this solution for thermally activated concrete buildings is far less prominent than the baffles commonly used for acoustic purposes.
Also on display will be the Hunter Douglas QC200 façade. The company has borrowed technology from the aircraft industry to create the facade panels, resulting in an extremely flat, durable panel available in extra-large sizes. The panels come with a coil coated aluminium skin and can be curved or folded.
There will also be a chance to view the Hunter Douglas flat folding shutter. Folding shutters in the façade design, as well for new construction and renovation, offer the possibility to immediately improve the appearance of the building.
By opening and closing the flat folding shutters, the façade gets a completely dynamic view and contributes to a high quality architectural design. Efficient filtering of direct sunlight and reducing solar heat will benefit good thermal and visual comfort thanks to the flexibility that the system offers.
The innovations showcased by Hunter Douglas have been presented for approval to a judging panel of architects and interior designers prior to the event. The company will have representatives on the stand with extensive technical knowledge who are able to provide visitors with the ideal solution for their specific case.
This meets the mission of Architect@Work to provide much more than a simple platform for architects and interior designers.
