Acrow Galvanizing, part of Wedge Group Galvanizing, has joined forces with long-term client and blacksmith, Fransham Forge, to galvanize six miles of steel and create a ‘wish tree’ sculpture for a hospital garden in Norwich.
The impressive sculpture forms part of a new garden, which was designed and built to offer patients and relatives a tranquil place to reflect and relax. The ‘wish tree’ provides visitors with the opportunity to make a wish and hang it on the sculpted branches, and in-keeping with the garden’s serene theme, the tree’s trunk is surrounded by the words, love, faith, and hope.
John Nicholson, Commercial Manager at Acrow Galvanizing, said: “We were delighted to partner with Fransham Forge on such a special project. The finished result is truly spectacular and we very much look forward to working alongside Nigel and his team in the future.”
Nigel Barnett, Owner of Fransham Forge, explained: “We used the services of Acrow Galvanizing as we have worked with the organisation before, and the team always provide a first class service. Before treating the steel, we tea-washed the sculpture to give it a lead-like appearance, and chose galvanizing as the finish to ensure it was maintenance free.”
Wedge Group Galvanizing is the largest hot-dip galvanizing organisation in the UK with a history dating back over 150 years. With 14 plants strategically placed across the country, the firm offers a truly national galvanizing service.
