Strongly committed to supplying genuinely sustainable solutions, Forticrete, the UK’s leading manufacturer of concrete construction products, will exhibit its comprehensive range of sustainable masonry and roof tiles for the first time at Ecobuild 2013.
Giving visitors to the show the chance to see more environmentally friendly concrete-based solutions all under one roof, than ever before, Forticrete will set up stand at the annual event as part of British Precast’s Concrete and Masonry Village.
The Concrete and Masonry Village brings together British Precast’s product association groups and member organisations to promote both their individual services as well as the concrete and clay industry as a whole.
Taking centre stage on the stand will be Forticrete’s popular Gemini roof tile, which as part of the company’s ECO family of products, provides significant environmental benefits for clients; including 40% less CO2 emissions per m2 roof when compared to plain tiles.
In addition, Forticrete will also be showcasing its range of Dense Concrete Masonry blocks which are manufactured using up to 45% recycled content.
John Lambert, general manager at Forticrete, commented: “Forticrete has a long standing commitment to the environment and sustainable building. Having already adopted the ISO 14001 environment management system, last year we were also accredited to ‘very good’ for the responsible sourcing standard BES 6001 across our entire product range and all manufacturing sites, a truly fantastic achievement.
“Furthermore, we have made great advances to not only ensure our products provide award-winning design, but also offer exceptional environmental credentials that meet and exceed industry standards.
“As the industry’s leading showcase of sustainable products and materials, Ecobuild provides the ideal platform for us to bring our high performance sustainable solutions direct to those that could benefit from them most. We are excited to be taking part in what we are sure will be a great exhibition.”
As well as being extremely energy efficient, Forticrete’s Gemini roof tiles are aesthetically pleasing, easy-to-install and high in quality. They have been specifically designed as interlocking tiles which are just 270mm x 337mm overall, yet because of a carefully judged central groove and innovative ‘double cambered’ design, they have the appearance of two traditional plain tiles side by side when laid, effectively laying two tiles at a time.
As part of its ECOBLOCK range of masonry, Forticrete’s decorative concrete facing blocks are available in various finishes, profiles and a wide variety of exciting colours to ensure that architects and specifiers have access to an array of sustainable yet attractive solutions that will help make any building stand out from the crowd.
