Award-winning smoke ventilation contractor Fire Design Solutions (FDS) has been appointed to work on a new luxury residential development in West London.
Situated in the Park Royal area, between Chiswick and Ealing, Redrow’s Royal Waterside project consists of 265 residences, including studios, apartments and penthouses with a range of amenities, including farmers markets, music venues and Michelin starred restaurants nearby.
Brought on to the project by Redrow, FDS will design, supply, install and commission mechanical smoke ventilation and car park smoke ventilation systems in order to meet required fire safety standards. In addition, FDS will also provide corridor environmental systems for the site, which will mitigate heat build-up in common corridors during day-to-day operation.
Speaking on FDS’ appointment, Bill Kenneally, commercial director for Redrow Homes (Eastern), said: “Having worked with FDS in the past we were aware of the benefits that their systems can bring to a project, and by liaising with their team of experts we’ve been able to identify the most appropriate solutions for Royal Waterside, helping us to maximise both resident safety and comfort.”

FDS’ work on site will complete in 2016 when the systems have been fully commissioned.
