UK ventilation manufacturer EnviroVent is celebrating the production of its one millionth Filterless Fan.
To celebrate the occasion, a special edition gold version was presented to Fife Council by EnviroVent to mark this major milestone in the company’s history.
The Filterless Extract Fan was designed for the social housing sector and was one of the first products to be manufactured by EnviroVent. Over the past 12 years, the fans have helped to reduce issues of condensation and mould growth in hundreds of thousands of homes across the UK and the company estimates over 25,000 are in operation in properties owned by Fife Council since 2004.
Andy Makin, Managing Director at EnviroVent, said: “We are delighted to be celebrating the anniversary of the millionth Filterless Fan and to be sharing this occasion with one of our customers whose tenants have benefited the most. Local authorities and other social housing providers like the fan as it offers low maintenance, low long term lifecycle costs and reduced energy usage, which is what it has become renowned for.”
Keith Brown, Housing Team Manager at Fife Council, said: “Over the years these fans have saved the council hundreds of thousands of pounds in call outs and maintenance costs for condensation and mould-related issues. It is great that so many of our tenants are benefiting from this innovative technology which gives them improved indoor air quality in their homes. We’ve had some great feedback from tenants who’ve noticed an immediate difference and it’s also a major benefit that they are very low maintenance.”
Councillor Judy Hamilton, Executive Spokesperson for Housing and Building Services at Fife Council, said: “The council is committed to improving the quality of its housing stock and these extract fans are part of this. We recognise how poor ventilation in a home can be harmful to health and as a result of this we have invested in warmer, drier, healthier homes for the benefit of tenants.”
The Filterless Fan was created by designing out the requirement for filtration to ensure a smooth, uninterrupted passage of air through the fan. It uses filterless technology, with a unique patented cartridge system and ultra low watt motor technology. The environmentally friendly unit provides exceptional performance and is designed to last the lifetime of a building.
