Eaton brings modern manufacturing to life at Hannover

Power management company Eaton is showcasing its vision for how modern manufacturers can be more profitable through next generation manufacturing at the Hannover Messe.

The exhibition takes place from 13 to 17 April in Hannover, Germany, where Eaton’s stand will reflect the layout of a modern industrial unit, with fully working machines.

Visitors to stand C63/69 in Hall 11 will have the opportunity to experience how Eaton can help them design and build best in class machines, reduce time to market and become more profitable. At the same time, they can learn about innovative building infrastructure solutions and how to maximise the safety of people and property.

A working model of a large filter system, used for example in the wood or textile industry, will be on the stand to demonstrate how manufacturers can comply with the Energy-related Products (ErP) Directive. In particular, Eaton’s variable speed starter now offers a cost-effective, easy-to-use and compact alternative, which visitors to the booth can evaluate.

A fully networked industrial future requires information from all the devices embedded in a machine or system. By turning components into smart devices using SmartWire-DT technology, Eaton is uniquely positioned to provide a high level of data transparency that is already built into the system by design. This comprises components within the cabinet as well as sensors and actuators or hydraulic valves outside the control panel. This is an important prerequisite for enabling users to get ready for Industry 4.0. In Hannover, visitors can experience the benefits of this concept based on a working pasta machine.

Energy efficiency, regulations and safety are also key concerns from an infrastructure perspective.  Stringent legislation makes the safety of people and property an important focus for building owners and managers. At the same time, reducing energy consumption and carbon emissions with solutions like LED lighting, in particular, is a key consideration for many facilities managers. From mains and emergency lighting, to medium and low voltage power distribution, critical power management, fire detection and access control, Eaton has the knowledge, expertise and products to help compliance with regulations and create an environment to keep businesses running safe and strong.

To enable machine and system builders to further develop their competitive edge and realise more profit, Eaton has established a Value Added Services team. Its goal is to develop customised solutions for complex manufacturing and supply chain challenges. The new services that will be launched at the exhibition range from individual packaging, distribution and tracking concepts, through to the pre-assembly of components and systems, to customised software configurators.

While showcasing these different aspects of its portfolio in the Industrial Automation area of the exhibition, Eaton’s Hydraulics segment is also participating in the Motion, Drive & Automation section of the fair in Hall 21, stand F03. Here, Eaton is presenting its latest hydraulics and filtration innovations that focus on machine diagnostics and condition monitoring as well as increasing energy efficiency and reducing production costs.
