Daikin UK is celebrating the success of its Future Thinking seminar programme for building services engineers as it heads into its 5th series.
The informative series of CPD accredited talks have, to date, been attended by more than 500 consultants in more than 11 locations across the UK.
Developed by Daikin UK experts, each Future Thinking series is based around a topical challenge for building service engineers focused on achieving a sustainable and comfortable indoor climate. Topics covered in the programme have included; low-carbon heating solutions, F-Gas regulations, BREEAM and Building Information Modelling (BIM), with the fifth series to focus on closing the performance gap of UK commercial buildings.
Beginning in November 2014, the successful CPD series has been running for over a year, with more than 30 seminars held in 16 venues across the UK.
With expertise provided from industry leaders such as Emeritus Professor Geoff Levermore, Ant Wilson, Director of Sustainability at AECOM, the BRE and for the next series of seminars, The Carbon Trust and IES Modelling, the Future Thinking seminars pave the way for innovation in the sector when designing energy efficient climate control.
Speaking after a Future Thinking Series 1 seminar, Iain Sharp, DMP Engineers said, “A very interesting presentation with excellent guest speaker. This was the first CPD seminar I have attended and I look forward to attending more in the future.”
A highlight of the Future Thinking campaign is a trip to Japan for selected consultants, which is taking place again in April 2016. Experiencing the very latest developments in energy efficient climate control, consulting engineers get the opportunity join Daikin UK on a tour of Osaka, Kyoto and Tokyo enjoying visits to world-class reference sites and the Kanaoka factory where the latest Daikin heat recovery systems are manufactured.
“The challenges surrounding designing a suitable built environment are ever increasing, for example, the adoption of BIM, new F-gas regulations and the importance placed upon closing the performance gap,” said Karen Perry, National Specification Manager at Daikin UK.
“The Future Thinking CPD series has been exceptional in encouraging forward thinking discussions surrounding how to best achieve a comfortable indoor climate. The programme is ensuring HVAC industry professionals are up to date with recent legislation changes and advances in air conditioning technologies.”
“With an audience increase of more than 200 per cent between Future Thinking series one and four, series five looks to be an even more successful event!”
