Proving that aesthetics do not have to come at the expense of sustainable performance, Black Millwork will showcase its wide range of attractive energy efficient timber windows and doors at this year’s Ecobuild.
Taking centre stage at stand S1151 will be the company’s range of Urban Sliding Sash windows. Available in both double and triple glazed formats, this innovative solution combines the classic design lines of a Victorian era window with the technical benefits of a modern product. Delivering excellent thermal performance, the units achieve a U-value of 1.5 W/m2K for the double glazed option and 1.3 W/m2K for the tripled glazed choice.
Manufactured from quality knot-free engineered Baltic pine, the windows are glazed as standard with Pilkington Low E 24mm glass, encompassing 90% Argon Gas Fill, which helps maintain the superior thermal performance.
Other appealing fenestration solutions that will be on display include the tilt and turn, flush casement and oak casement windows – all of which are available in double and triple glazed formats. A popular choice in Scandinavia, triple glazing offers maximum thermal performance for builds in exposed locations or extreme weather conditions.
Further bolstering its product offering, Black Millwork will also be showcasing its range of high specification 68mm engineered timber entrance doors. These high quality doors offer the best in terms of strength and durability, as well as enjoying the aesthetic benefits that timber offers. The enhanced range boasts thicknesses of up to 68mm to fully meet with European Standards and provide improved thermal efficiencies. Additional insulated panels have also been incorporated into the wide range of door styles available, ensuring superior performance.
Gary Hutton, General Manager at Black Millwork said: “The past year has seen exceptional growth in the various product ranges and styles that we offer, and the Urban Sliding Sash windows and entrance doors really are a cut above the rest in terms of efficiency, performance and beauty. With such an extensive collection, Black Millwork truly is the one stop shop for any door or window specification – with the added peace of mind that our extensive warranties come as standard, with ten years for sealed units and five years on hardware and paint finish.”
As the sole UK distributors of Andersen Windows, Black Millwork will also be showcasing its portfolio of these highly sustainable windows. The eco credentials of Andersen Windows are supported by the incorporation of Fibrex- a new generation wood, which is manufactured with up to 50% recycled pine waste.
Finally, Black Millwork will highlight the lasting beauty and architectural distinction that aluminium clad windows offer, through its Eagle collection. Offering the best of both worlds, Eagle Windows provide the warmth and character of timber internally, while their exterior provides a finish with superior resistance to weather, abrasion and impact.
