As any lighting professional knows - you never have a light meter when you want one! Well look no further: designed by the lighting experts at Whitegoods, this cool looking light meter App is simple to use and extremely intuitive and will be available free to download at The ARC show 2012.
This unique App can be used to measure light levels and will give a guide to users regarding the appropriateness of that light for different environments or tasks i.e. “ideal for reading printed paper of high contrast” or “ideal for performing visual tasks of low contrast or very small size”. This dynamic information is shown on screen as light levels change, allowing the user to compare what they see to other applications.
The App can be set to display results as Lux or Foot-candles, depending on user preference.
There is a timer function for those hard to reach spots where you can't see the display, but you need a reading.
The application will be compatible with the iPhone 3GS, and 3 users will need to use this function to get a reading as there is only a rear camera. With iPhone 4, users can choose between metering with the front or rear camera.
To download your very own Whitegoods Light Meter APP, visit the App Store website on 24th February or visit the Alliance Lighting Stand V4 at the ARC show, Business Design Centre, where the App will be formally launched and you can download your free copy.
