Wavin launches new range of OSMA boss connectors

Wavin, a leading manufacturers of plumbing, rainwater and drainage systems, has added to its growing OSMA range with the launch of new clip and patch bosses.

Making it easier for plumbers to connect new waste drainage into existing stacks, the nine new products include both clip boss and patch boss options for retrofit applications.

As one of the building industry’s most widely recognised names, the OSMA range is set for an expansion following the launch of new boss connectors – including six clip and three patch bosses – to offer the most comprehensive range of solutions for retrofit applications.

“As more people invest with home improvements, there is a need to provide plumbers with more than one way of solving a problem on site,” said Steven Skeldon, Wavin Product Manager, Above Ground Plastics. “This is why we’ve extended our retrofit boss range from just strap bosses to clip and patch boss options.”

“Also, in recent years, more plumbers are making direct waste connections into a soil stack to accommodate drainage from condensing boilers,” added Steven. “More often than not, when going externally, this means increasing the size to either 32mm or 40mm to reduce the risk of freezing.”

In situations where it may prove difficult to install a strap boss, plumbers will now have the option to fit one of the new clip bosses using a solvent weld joint, with either 32mm or 40mm universal waste sockets. These are available in grey, black or white for 110mm pipes.

Alternatively, plumbers can use a patch boss – available to fit 82mm, 110mm or 160mm pipes – which features a universal 50mm waste connection and is available in grey. As most new products are manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN 1329-1: 2000, the regulatory standard for plastic piping systems for soil and waste discharge within the building structure.

The expansion of the OSMA range will not only meet the growing demands of the construction industry, it will ensure Wavin continues to lead the way in product innovations, system compatibility and technical support – helping the brand to remain the leading name in plastic drainage and rainwater systems.
