Leading washroom manufacturer, Washroom Washroom, has recently completed work on a bespoke washroom refurbishment, made all the more challenging as it was carried within a live office environment.
Located in the heart of the City of London, just a short walk from St Paul’s Cathedral, the building provides modern office space over nine floors. The full refurbishment, overseen by Paragon with design led by 3DReid, was completed in three phases over several months in order to keep disruption to a minimum for existing staff.
Throughout the project, Washroom worked closely with Paragon to ensure that all aspects of the architects’ designs for the new washroom areas were realised, including bespoke elements to meet the high specification finish required, while remaining practical for end users. As part of the process, a mock up washroom was initially installed on the ninth floor to ensure all aspects of the design would come together and iron out any potential pitfalls at the earliest possible stage.
For the vanities, Washroom installed individually shaped Corian sink units, which also incorporated a bespoke bag shelf design feature. Wall mounted mirrors, designed to include space for concealed soap dispensers and hand dryers with etched symbols for clarity for end users, were installed, adding further clean, unbroken lines to the smooth finish.
The use of laminate wall panelling, around the vanities and WCs in a gloss finish, backlit with yellow lighting to inject some colour into the washroom area and create a striking impression, also has practical benefits, ensuring future maintenance and cleaning is effective. The project’s green credentials were kept in check by Washroom as the existing cubicle doors were re-laminated to create a fresh new look without the need for installing completely new doors.
