Scandinavian design holds a strong influence on the way that people decorate their homes and so VitrA has made it possible to bring this much admired style, not only into the home but into the bathroom with its new Nest Trendy collection.
Created for VitrA by the acclaimed Finnish studio, Pentagon Design, the collection embodies its name with its homely yet modern and upmarket styling. It personifies the Scandinavian look with its unfussy, contemporary and clean lines which are softened by natural and warm wood finishes. This style is very much in line with VitrA’s wider portfolio which sets to reclaim the bathroom as a sophisticated setting for pampering by creating sociable and relaxing environments.
The designers behind the collection are known for “reinventing the everyday” through “inventive, long-lasting solutions” and this is clear in the surprising and marvellous feature on the counter top washbasins. Around the exterior rim of the basin, a series of white LED’s are hidden with motion activated sensors. These sensors respond to movement in the bathroom and turn on to provide a subtle glow around the basins.
The effect is not only beautiful, but provides a great solution for night-time visitors to the bathroom who do not wish to be startled by too much light. This innovative approach to design is exactly why VitrA commissioned the design studio to create this new collection.
The Nest Trendy range exemplifies the Scandinavian ethos too as it provides a very practical and useful series of matching modular components. It includes the usual brassware and accessory options with several washbasins in different sizes and fittings, and wall-hung furniture including washbasin units, tall units, mirrors and base units. This comprehensive range allows each individual to create a bathroom set up which is completely suited to their needs.
