Construction students at City College Plymouth will now have access to a range of equipment thanks to the College’s partnership with international company, The Vaillant Group.
The Vaillant Group is one of the leading heating technology manufacturers and for more than 135 years have been creating products that have revolutionised the industry, from water heaters, to 'combi' boilers to renewable technologies.
Amongst the equipment donated by Vaillant, is a new boiler worth £3,000 that allows students to develop their skills using the most up-to-date equipment.
Chris Robinson, Regional Business Manager at Vaillant, said: “We are delighted to be working with City College Plymouth. We are committed to engaging with young people in order to support the workforce of the future. It is vital that our industry has new entrants who have the necessary technical knowledge and skills to enable them to add value to employers from the start. Vaillant is passionate about investing in training and ensuring students have the best possible start in their careers."
“The donation of Vaillant boilers to the College is just the beginning of a working relationship, which will, we hope, have a positive impact on College students for many years to come.”
Steve Cotton, Lecturer in Gas has long established links with the company and sought new equipment to benefit learners within the construction faculty. Steve added: “At the College we ensure teaching is relevant and up-to-date and this is achieved by creating partnerships with local, regional and national employers. We are grateful to Vaillant, for donating over £10,000 worth of equipment for use within the construction faculty at the College.
“The benefits are endless for our students, who are able to learn with industry standard equipment and technology. This guarantees our students are work-ready. Our newly founded partnership with Vaillant ensures our students will continue to benefit not only from donated equipment but from industry related talks and practical demonstrations by working engineers.”
