Ultra Floor’s two part latex levelling compound, Level IT two, has been used to transform part of Newcastle Falcons Rugby Club in Kingston Park.
Newcastle Falcons is the city’s rugby union team and recent refurbishment of the ground has made it one of the best equipped in the Premiership, attracting thousands of spectators every year.
Kingston Park has undergone a number of facelifts since the team took up residence in 1990, including the installation of three completely new stands as well as improvements to the interior accommodation including refurbishment of the Lounge Bar in the East Stand.
Richmond based tile laying and fitting contractors, Vinyl Visions Ltd have recently finished sub-floor preparation and vinyl floor covering installation in two of the club’s Physio-Theraphy treatment rooms. The work was carried out in two phases within a 5 day window using Ultra Floor Prime IT AR and Level IT two, to lay the HDC plank vinyl supplied by Karndean Design Flooring.
Ultra Floor Prime IT AR is an acrylic emulsion primer suitable for use on porous substrates. It helps reduce the absorbency of the floor and improves the adhesion of cementitious underlayments. It was used in this project to prepare the surface prior to levelling with Ultra Floor Level IT two.
Ultra Floor Level IT two is a two-part latex levelling compound offering excellent flow and adhesion properties. It is ideal for use with most cementitious floor substrates, hard adhesive residues, asphalt and timber as well as under Ultra Floor Damp Proof Membranes. The product’s composition is free from protein and ammonia, significantly reducing odour emissions during application and is ideal for use in confined working sites. The material achieves an impressive compressive strength of 31.25N/mm² after 28 days and can be accessed by foot traffic after approximately 2.5 hours. It may be covered after 24 hours @ 20°C.
It was important that downtime was kept to a minimum as the work had to be completed whilst the team were playing an away game. The floor was prepared and covered within the allotted time frame thanks to the material’s exceptional performance and ease of use.
