The Water Event, the UK’s first exhibition promoting water efficiency, has announced Severn Trent Water and Severn Trent Costain as its VIP sponsor.
Aimed at large scale businesses and public sector organisations seeking to improve their water management programmes, the event is co-located with RWM in partnership with CIWM, The Energy Event and The Renewables Event. It takes place at the NEC Birmingham from 10 to 11 September 2013.
i2i Events Group, the exhibition organiser, also announces The Water Event’s key speakers today. Speakers appearing in the free CPD-accredited conference programme include Trevor Bishop, Head of Water Resources at Environment Agency. Trevor will look at preparing and protecting your business against future water availability issues.
Paul Crewe, Head of Sustainability, Engineering, Energy and Environment at Sainsbury’s is also speaking. Paul will look at how Sainsbury’s is enhancing environmental and financial performance through targeted on-estate investment in managing water resources, process evaluation and educational campaigns.
The conference will also offer advice on meeting UK and EU regulation, preparing for ‘water’ market deregulation and developing engagement programmes within corporations to encourage water saving behaviour.
Other speakers in the new Water Event Theatre include Jacob Tompkins, MD at Waterwise, Claire Holmes, Strategy Team Member at Whitbread Hotels & Restaurants Group, Julia Denham, Global Sustainability Manager at Molson Coors and Michael Alexander, Head of Environment at Diageo Plc.
A spokesman for Severn Trent Water and Severn Trent Costain said: “As an event specifically dedicated to all aspects of water efficiency in business, The Water Event clearly reflects fundamental objectives for both companies.”
Dan Thurlow, Portfolio Director across all of i2i’s environment events added: “We’re delighted to have gathered such a broad range of influential speakers from across the industry and our VIP sponsor. Anyone attending The Water Event will leave inspired by how the UK’s leading businesses have engaged with the need to manage their water resources to save money, energy and water.”
