Travis Perkins Group today announced an agreement to become the headline sponsor for Framework Media’s ecoSHOWCASE Construction Roadshows. Designed for specifiers and buyers, the events are held at premier venues around the UK and provide exhibitions of sustainable products and solutions for the entire construction process, from the ground up. Each event is complemented by a series of authoritative educational seminars, focusing on key sustainability issues, government directives and legislation.
The move follows the launch of Travis Perkins’ Sustainable Building Solutions, which provides the construction industry with practical product and services solutions to the sustainable building agenda and presents a point of contact to access the extensive skills, expertise and knowledge of the Travis Perkins Group.
The events already attract the support of premier brands like Mitsubishi Electric, Daikin, Dimplex, Knauf, Polyflor, Hanson Formpave, Swish, Sika Sarnafil, Deceunink and Jablite. The seminar program, which consists of three half-hour sessions, is presented by environmental consultancy ECUS and cover topics such as: Managing Environmental Risk on Site, The Low Carbon Debate and The Green Deal.
Paul Joyner, Director of Sustainable Building Solutions at Travis Perkins Group commented: “This is a great opportunity for us to engage with specifiers and show how we can help them meet the needs of regulations simply and cost effectively through innovative technical product and solutions support, whether it’s new build or retrofit. We will have some very exciting market-leading solutions to announce that you wouldn’t normally be able to access from a merchant.”
Framework Media MD Steve Jones says: “In 2008, bang in the middle of the worst recession since the 1930s, we bought an event business that had been around for nearly 30 years. Since then we’ve been working hard on building the new ecoSHOWCASE brand. The agreement with Travis Perkins is hugely important in the process of developing events of the highest quality, delivering the sustainable construction message to specifiers throughout the UK.”
The Green Shoots Initiative
As part of the sponsorship agreement, the two companies will be developing a new feature at the events, which they are calling ‘The Green Shoots Initiative’. The specially designed exhibition stands will provide a ‘low-cost’ route to market for fledgling companies with new sustainable products or solutions. Framework’s Steve Jones describes the package as “A ready-to-go format that means start-up companies don’t need to spend precious funds on their own stand materials. All they need is a salesperson, some brochures and their samples.”Travis Perkins’ Paul Joyner adds: “We hope that the Green Shoots Initiative will uncover some exciting new products that we can help bring to market.”
The autumn events will begin at Arsenal’s Emirates Stadium on September 22nd, then move on to Birmingham 11th October, Cardiff 18th October, Luton 8th November, Southampton 16th November and Doncaster on 29th. A full program of 13 events for 2012 will be announced in the summer.
