Whether a large multinational retailer or a small single-unit self-storage operator, exploiting the space available at a site can be key to maximising its potential and ensuring a good return on investment (ROI).
The addition, or effective utilisation, of mezzanine floors can provide the ideal solution by increasing storage space by up to 50%.
To facilitate the effective movement of products to and from mezzanine floors, Transdek has developed a range of lifts that offer a cost effective, quick to install and easy to operate solution.
With over 350 lift installations throughout the UK, the company’s lifts handle the movement of products for companies including British Airways, Toys R Us, Storage King and DHL.
Transdek's mezzanine floor lifts are designed to carry up to one tonne (1,000kg) maximum gross weight, which makes them ideally suited to the lifting of lighter weight or bulky products. An ultra slim lift deck enables the lift platform to lower flush with the floor at ground level, allowing easy access for pallets and trolleys up the short, loading ramp.
With a primary aim of providing solutions to enhance operational efficiencies, Transdek’s team of experienced surveyors work in partnership with customers and architects to deliver solutions to improve site productivity, storage potential and overcome space restrictions.
Leon Butler, General Manager at Transdek UK, says: “For a wide of businesses, from manufacturers and self storage companies to logistics operators and leading retailers, making the most effective use of storage space and ensuring easy, safe and cost effective access to these areas can deliver a significant ROI.”
Transdek is working alongside one of the UK’s leading home furnishing retail chains to help improve efficiency at new site builds and a program of refurbishment across the store network. The refurbishment plan includes adding mezzanine floors to provide enhanced product storage capabilities, while delivering an increase in in-store retail space.
To minimise on-site disruption, all lifts are surface mounted, with no requirement for expensive civil engineering works or bespoke motor rooms. Usually installed in one to two days, the lifts offer a fast, cost effective means to access retail storage areas, factories or warehouses for safe mezzanine floor access.
All lifts are tailor made to meet specific customer requirements for both new build projects and retrofit installations with designs based on the comprehensive site surveys, customer feedback and architect plans.
Butler concludes: “Our mezzanine floor lifts are the result of quality engineering, which have undergone rigorous quality and safety controls to ensure maximum reliability and lifetime of the equipment. This is backed by more than 70 fully trained service agents that offer a 24-hour emergency service to ensure we provide a very high level of technical support for customers across the UK.”
