TORMAX ENTRANCE FOR EXCELLENT BREEAM RATED LONDON DEVELOPMENT

One of the most sustainable office developments ever built in the UK, 14 Pier Walk is the first of many Class A commercial buildings planned for London’s Greenwich Peninsula and features a prestigious TORMAX Classic revolving entrance system combined with an iMotion® automatic swing pass door. Powered by technologically advanced low-energy door operators, this access combination has been shown to effectively minimise heat lost from a building and contribute positively to energy consumption targets.

Arranged over ground and six upper floors, 14 Pier Walk sits at the heart of what is the first new Central London office district in a generation. The 3.5 million sq ft office district is a joint venture between Lend Lease and Quintain and includes 150 shops, restaurants and 10,000 new homes. 14 Pier Walk has achieved a BREEAM Excellent rating and carbon footprint that is below 2008 building regulations.

With offices worldwide, TORMAX is a pioneer in door automation delivering high-tech access solutions for a wide variety of locations for over 50 years. Reflecting the drive for sustainable solutions at 14 Pier Walk, the four-leaf 5251 Classic Revolving door is designed for reliability and constructed for longevity, ensuring ongoing performance and minimum maintenance even

under heavy daily wear and tear. The high torque, microprocessor operator produces exceptionally smooth, quiet operation whilst simplified programming options ensures settings are adapted to consistently minimise energy consumption.

Although the revolving entrance is fully compliant with current DDA regulations with advanced sensors adapting rotation speed to match that of users, the automatic swing door located alongside offers disabled users

alternative access as well as flexibility for larger deliveries. Powered by the iMotion® 1301 operator, which is almost entirely manufactured using recyclable materials, self-monitoring torque control accommodates changing factors such as high winds or a build-up of dirt, that may otherwise cause the door to slow down, helping ensure maximum operational efficiency.

Committed to a dedicated programme of continuous product development the TORMAX head office in Switzerland is now looking to incorporate iMotion® technology across all access systems.
