TRADA Technology has announced that Timber Expo - the UK's national timber event - will be relocating to the NEC Birmingham in September 2013.
Visitors to this year's show, which will be held on the 24th & 25th September, will be able to see the full range of timber technologies and wood products available on the market, and the widest display of new and innovative applications for timber within the built environment. The event is aimed at architects, engineers and contractors, local authorities and specifiers looking for the latest timber solutions.
Loretta Sales, Event Director of Timber Expo said: "Timber Expo moving to the NEC in 2013 is great news for everybody involved in the event and within the timber industry.
"The NEC is a fantastic venue and is the ideal location for the further expansion of Timber Expo. With excellent transport links via road, rail and the airport it will be even easier for our visitors and exhibitors to get here. In fact the airport being interconnected with the venue was a key element in choosing the NEC, as the vast majority of our key target regions for overseas exhibitors (Austria, Finland, Germany, Sweden) all have direct flights into Birmingham International. With the combination of excellent content, leading exhibitors and superb facilities at the NEC, this year's Timber Expo is set to be the best yet."
Chris Hartley, Business Development Director, NEC said: "The NEC has proved time and time again that the flexibility of our venue and of our approach to our clients means that not only can we cater for events of all shapes and sizes, but as a dedicated exhibition and conference destination we actually help our customers to grow their events. I'm excited to welcome Timber Expo and the team to the NEC, and I am confident that this year's event will be an outstanding success."
The 2013 show will focus on product areas such as timber frame, SIPS, and engineered wood; prefabricated systems and components; it will spotlight timber protection, preservation and conservation, the recycling and reuse of materials; timber labelling, certification, chain of custody, and it will also look to the future of the industry with timber merchant and supply innovations.
