Acoustic specialist company Hodgson & Hodgson Group has completed an installation of themed wall panels into a Leicester staff canteen. The SoftSound FibreLine Designer acoustic panels were printed with bespoke graphics depicting scenes of local people, landmarks and events.
Hodgson & Hodgson was asked to come up with a solution to reduce noise in the client’s staff dining area and specified SoftSound FibreLine 50mm panels as the most suitable product. These durable, impact-resistant wall panels are designed to provide floor to ceiling coverage and are available in a variety of shapes and sizes. The panels also have particularly attractive aesthetic qualities and can be customised to suit individual applications.
SoftSound FibreLine is designed to absorb high levels of reflective noise within a room and combines outstanding performance with high aesthetic appeal, providing a softer and more comfortable acoustic environment. To improve both the noise levels and the appearance of the Leicester site, Hodgson & Hodgson proposed a decorative finish to the acoustic panels, incorporating lively and vibrant images from around the local area.
“SoftSound FibreLine was the perfect product for this application because of its ability both to absorb noise and act as a decorative feature,” says Glynne Balshaw-Jones of Hodgson & Hodgson Group. “The reaction of staff to their new-look canteen has been extremely positive, the noise reduction is significant and the area has become a much more relaxing place to take a break.”
Manufactured from sound-absorbing mineral fibreboard and covered in acoustic fabric or bonded to a high-impact facing board, SoftSound FibreLine is an ideal solution for noise control in high-traffic areas such as call centres, offices, conference centres, recording studios and entertainment facilities.
With nine locations in the UK, Hodgson & Hodgson offers a total design, manufacture and installation service for acoustic building and industrial products. The company’s Acoustic Consultancy division provides advice on all aspects of architectural acoustics plus noise and vibration control solutions.
