The Golf Classic is the national golfing tournament for the UK construction industry.
The event has become a ‘must do’ part of the calendar for the many hundreds of golfers who enter each year to enjoy playing golf in their region and forge new relationships which often grow into profitable partnerships.
As the competition enters its 22nd year, it continues to attract golfers of all abilities from every corner of the industry and the country. The six round knock-out competition starts in February 2014, culminating in the Grand Final played on the prestigious Championship Arden Course at the Marriott Forest of Arden Hotel & Country Club.
All finalists enjoy a free golf, gala dinner and overnight stay. The winners are presented with and a beautiful trophy and £200 Pro Shop vouchers each. There are also Runner Up, Nearest the Pin and Longest Drive prizes, so there is everything to play for.
The Final is set in the 10,000 acre Championship Arden Course, designed by well-renowned golf architect Donald Steel, which has played host to a succession of international tournaments including the British Masters and the English Open. The par 72 course is designed for playing a wide range of shots and provides golfers with a challenging but pleasurable test of golfing skill.
Sponsors of the 2014 event include Marley Plumbing & Drainage, Rockfon and Nexans. The tournament is also supported by a wide cross-section of the specialist construction press and media, further proof of its position as a flagship event in the industry’s social landscape.
The Golf Classic is proud to continue its support for the Seve Ballesteros Foundation working in partnership with Cancer Research UK to fund vital brain cancer research, and has raised thousands of pounds for this very worthwhile cause.
