Alongside its existing ranges of I Joists, Wall Studs, Laminated Veneer Lumber and flexible & rigid wood fibre insulation panels STEICO announce the UK launch of STEICOtop and STEICOzell together with the STEICO Ecological Roof concept; a truly sustainable room in the roof option for comfortable and healthy living in new build applications.
STEICOtop is a new generation wood fibre insulation board designed especially for loft floors and is suitable for light footfall without the need for further covering. The product features a high density surface and is lightweight and easy to handle. STEICOtop is available in thickness of 80 and 100mm with a board size 1200 x 400mm.
STEICOzell is an air injected insulation manufactured from recyclable, pine wood fibre. The joint free insulation has very good thermal insulation and thermal storage capacity which means excellent summer heat protection and a healthy indoor climate all the year round. STEICO UK is currently working to set up a trained team of installation partners and timber frame panel providers.
The STEICO Ecological roof concept is based on a new hinged roof system which utilizes STEICOjoists. Manufactured off site and lowered into place it offers Architects and Developers a fast, cost effective and simple room in the roof option for new build projects.
With the full utilization of STEICO flexible and rigid insulation products to complete the project a high performing ecological solution is achieved. The enhancement to the breathability and performance of the roof fabric using STEICO natural wood fibre products ensures not only energy savings but a healthy indoor climate for home owners and tenants. Cosy warmth in winter and a cool retreat in summer are achieved.
Higher performance I joist
Benefits to the builder from the recent change of flange from softwood to STEICOultralam LVL include the exceptional all round performance of a more engineered product designed to combine perfectly with ultralam rim boards and beams. They offer the ability of wider spans for better and more economic living space with more consistent volume production quality.
New initiatives currently under development include fire retardant and moisture resistant joist options for use in timber frame wall, floor and roof structures.
An extensive and professional supply partner network ensures STEICOjoists are available nationally for use in the smallest self build project to the largest housing developments. A new STEICOjoist single member design programme for Architects and Structural Engineers is available free upon request.
Weather protected floor deck
A new development in particle board based flooring decks includes STEICO Protectadek which uses P5 tongued and grooved flooring panels coated with a new water resistant sealant. This can be applied to the top and/or bottom of the panel as required. With a fire retardant version available shortly this new sealed decking for short term exterior use joins the STEICO UK particle board flooring range an ideal partner for STEICOjoists.
