Speedy Signs Sponsorship Deal with County Cricket Ground

One of North West’s biggest employers is hoping to create some ‘six appeal’ from a lucrative new sponsorship deal with the county’s cricket champions and their new-look ground.

Speedy Services, based in Newton-le-Willows, will become an official partner of Lancashire County Cricket Club and Old Trafford cricket ground for the forthcoming season.

The deal will see the name of the UK’s largest equipment rental and services company on advertising boards around the ground, along with large screen branding and regular exposure in the county’s match day magazines.

Speedy, which has also unveiled a high profile sponsorship of UK Open darts tournament in June, is hoping for similar success from its step inside the boundary rope.

The company is already a preferred equipment provider to Morgan Sindall, the official developers of Old Trafford, and is hoping to strengthen its links with the club through the deal.

Speedy’s marketing director Steve McIntyre said: “We are thrilled to be associated with Lancashire County Cricket Club, the current county champions.

“We saw huge potential in a sponsorship deal with Lancashire, with whom we have already forged a close relationship.

“We know how lucrative sports sponsorships can be for us, from our venture into the darts world last year.

“We will be activating this deal in a similar fashion, offering a number of giveaways and incentives for Lancashire fans.”

Supporters will soon be able to make the most out of Speedy’s sponsorship, courtesy of a ‘Speedy Century Prediction League’. Fans will be invited to predict the player to score the fastest century in the game during the season.

Prizes will also be given out to any supporter showing speedy reflexes during LV= County Championship, Clydesdale Bank 40 and Friends Life t20 games.

If a ball is caught behind the boundary rope at any point of any game at Old Trafford, Speedy will be rewarding the successful fan with a cricket goody bag.
