Sovereign has completed a two-stage development at a Greater London school, which now benefits from two newly renovated play spaces that have improved its outdoor play provision for Early Years and Key Stage Two pupils.
Cuckoo Hall Academy’s Early Years area has been transformed with a range of physically challenging and stimulating equipment from Sovereign, including a Trim Trail on wetpour surfacing, interactive musical panels, a play lodge and story area, complete with imaginative toadstool seating, which provides the children with somewhere to sit, relax and talk, aiding social skills and inclusion. The story area provides an outdoor classroom for teachers to read to students in natural surroundings.
Nick Efthymiou, Site Manager at Cuckoo Hall commented: “We felt that Sovereign had really understood the brief for our new early years play area and interpreted our needs perfectly. We were very impressed with the design, so much so, that we invited them back to quote for our Key Stage 2 area.”
During phase two, an adventure tower was installed in the Key Stage Two area, encouraging co-ordination, confidence and balance, turn-taking and physical development.
The school now has two new age-appropriate play spaces that encourage the development of physical and social skills in an exciting environment.
