SFS intec has recently been approved membership for the Insulated Render and Cladding Association (INCA), the recognised trade association for the external wall insulation (EWI) industry.
Representing major system designers, specialist installers and key component suppliers, the organisation provides technical advice and installation best practice for the EWI industry to Government, clients and other key stakeholders.
Jamie Lewis, Off Site & Facades Business Development Manager at SFS intec, said: “INCA clearly and publicly states, that companies wishing to become a member of the association must meet the INCA criteria and operate in accordance with the association’s Code of Professional Practice. They must be active within the EWI industry, financially secure and practice good CSR.
“Therefore, to have been granted membership status is a significant achievement and demonstrates that we are at the top of our game. Furthermore, it provides our customers with product assurance and a more direct access to the latest industry developments and standards. We will be working closely with the trade body to continue to drive positive change in legislation.”
To cater for the growing demand in external insulation on homes and commercial builds, SFS intec has recently developed its innovative new JB-D window bracket system. Designed to ensure the secure setting of windows over external insulation zones, the configuration counteracts the heavier loads imposed by triple glazed units, and is verified by IFT Rosenheim testing.
Jamie continued: “The installation of EWL can reduce a home’s heating costs by up to as much as 40%, so there’s no wonder that this application has increased in demand in recent times. However, this growth has meant thicker insulation which has called for cavities within the wall’s construction to widen. Because of this, the approach to installation has had to adapt but it appears that products have been a bit slow to catch up, and this is where the JB-D comes in.”
