Setcrete Flexible floor levelling compound has been used to provide a smooth, even surface at Penkridge Cricket Club, in Staffordshire.
The smoothing compound, part of Setcrete’s range of high performance flooring products for the professional builder, was used to create a level, durable floor in the cricket club’s conservatory, which hosts the club’s various functions throughout the year.
Following initial cleaning and preparation of the subfloor, an epoxy resin waterproof surface membrane was installed over the sand/cement screed base. This provided an efficient and effective means of suppressing excess subfloor moisture.
When undertaking any new flooring installation, subfloor moisture should always be measured and, if required, treated with a waterproof surface membrane, as stipulated by British Standards. The surface was then primed using Setcrete Acrylic Primer to prevent unacceptable rapid drying of the subsequent underlayment.
The next stage in the project was to install Setcrete Flexible levelling compound over the 25sqm area.
Setcrete Flexible was applied at thicknesses of up to 3mm, to provide a smooth and level base ready to receive a luxury vinyl tile floorcovering. Setcrete Flexible utilises the latest advances in cement and polymer technology to provide a fast track, professional finish.
Furthermore, with an extended working time of up to 30 minutes, and a walk on time of just 1-2 hours, Setcrete Flexible smoothes uneven floors quickly and easily, and allows for a new ceramic or textile floorcovering to be installed after just 4-6 hours.

The project was completed with speed and ease thanks to Setcrete Flexible, as the product was easy to apply and allowed a new floorcovering to be installed the next day. This meant the rest of the work could continue without delay and the room was quickly available to use.”
