High security composite panel manufacturer Securiclad has announced that its innovative modular systems now have an even greater resistance to firearms.
The Securiclad panel has achieved European EN1063 BR4 certification, which means that it can withstand the firepower of a powerful large bore 0.44 Magnum.
Securiclad’s premium security system already offers protection against several types of lighter ammunition – including 0.22 lead rounds, 9mm Luger rounds and 0.357 Magnum rounds – and the new rating further demonstrates the panels’ ability to resist attack by firearms.
In addition, the system offers a security solution to Loss Prevention Standard (LPS) 1175 Security Rating (SR) 5, which means that it is designed and manufactured to withstand determined attempts at forced entry using the kind of top-of-the-range, high-powered cutting tools employed by fire and rescue personnel. It is also approved for Government use by the Centre for the Protection of National Infrastructure (CPNI).
Securiclad’s innovative; premium security solution can be used in a range of sectors, including data centres, healthcare, utilities, cargo handling, retail, residential and finance. Its high security level means that it is ideal for the protection of areas containing servers, sensitive data, control equipment, hazardous substances, high value items and pharmaceuticals.
As the system is modular, it is quick and easy to install. It is also entirely bespoke and can be designed to specification. Securiclad can be used in new buildings or retro-fitted to an existing site, and is pre-finished, negating the need for wet trade requirements. It has both internal and external applications and can be used to form a standalone ‘room’, kiosk or partition, making it ideal for use in co-location premises.
Carl Lowson, manufacturing manager at Securiclad, said: “In the current security climate, it’s vital that a sensitive facility’s critical areas, such as server rooms or control equipment, are safeguarded from attack – and that includes criminals using firearms in an attempt to gain access, or damage an installation’s infrastructure.
“We’re proud to announce that we have achieved EN1063 BR4 certification, which will provide our clients with even greater peace of mind.”
Mike McColl, managing director of Securiclad, added: “It’s testimony to the experience and cutting-edge expertise of our design team that our systems have been given this high rating, and shows that we are continuing to innovate and develop our products.”
Manufactured at Securiclad’s facility in North Tyneside, the system is delivered across the UK and is available as a turnkey solution, via approved and certified nominated installers.
