SAGE, the world’s leading manufacturer of dynamic glass for windows, skylights and curtain walls, is giving visitors to Ecobuild the opportunity to experience first hand its electronically tintable glass and glazing solutions.
This will be one of SAGE’s first major events in Europe as it unveils SageGlass® to the European market following its acquisition by Saint-Gobain in 2012.
SAGE is displaying its dynamic SageGlass at Ecobuild and discussing the future of glass and sustainable building. SAGE is excited to be demonstrating how electrochromic glass reduces the energy needed to heat and cool buildings, whilst maintaining a low HVAC and carbon level.
SAGE recently entered the European market of sustainable building design, equipped with 10 years of customer experience in the USA. SAGE is a wholly owned subsidiary of Saint-Gobain, the world leader in the habitat and construction markets, designs, manufactures and distributes building materials. Saint-Gobain has a long international history in these markets and now operates in 64 countries around the world. The company provides innovative solutions to the challenges of growth, energy efficiency and environmental protection.
“We are excited to be showcasing our products at Ecobuild for the first time. Ecobuild is a great platform to display our dynamic glass solutions to the European market and we are eager to offer customers the opportunity to experience our electrochromic solutions for themselves, in order to develop understanding of the technology and how SageGlass can benefit them,” said Jeff Upton, UK Sales Manager, Saint-Gobain Sage Electrochromic Glass.
SageGlass is electrochromic, or electronically tintable, dynamic glass used for windows, skylights and curtain walls. The glass tints or clears to modulate light, solar heat gain and glare. Rather than using conventional sun controls such as motorised window shades, blinds and louvres that tend to block the view to the outdoors.
SageGlass provides a solution that enhances occupant comfort, enables unobstructed views and reduces energy demand. It can change the visible light transmission and solar heat gain in a room at the push of a button or automatically via the SageGlass proprietary control system or a building automation system.
