The Centre of Refurbishment Excellence (CoRE) is launching four major retrofit Masterclasses this year featuring the UK’s preeminent experts in green building retrofit.
Designed for housing professionals who are keen to develop their retrofit understanding and services, the Masterclasses are an opportunity to see new presentations not seen before in the UK, to learn about the latest retrofit innovations from the industry’s thought leaders, and to network with new suppliers and potential ECO and Green Deal business partners.
The first event on Whole House Retrofit is on 3 October and will be run by Robert Prewett of Prewett Bizley Architects and Russell Smith of Parity Projects. They will cover the latest assessment options for dwellings, how to tackle medium term low carbon improvement plans, and advice on funding, project managing and de-risking retrofit at scale.
This Masterclass will be followed on 10 October by a full day event on Building Fabric Retrofit by Mark Elton, partner at Sustainable BY Design, and Peter Rickaby of Rickaby Thompson Associates.
The two Masterclasses in November will be on Building Services, led by John Willoughby and Alan Clarke, and on Ventilation, presented by Ian Orme of BSRIA and Peter Rickaby.
All CoRE Masterclasses are delivered by its Fellows, the UK’s largest bank of retrofit expertise, drawing together leading practitioners from construction, design and academia. The Fellows not only shape the CoRE agenda, but also share their knowledge with the growing number of active retrofitters through events, bespoke training and information sharing.
CoRE is the not for profit, national centre of excellence for green building retrofit. Its mission is to transfer practical retrofit knowledge to support excellence in retrofit products and projects across the domestic and non-domestic sectors.
Based in Stoke-on-Trent, CoRE is itself an example of refurbishment excellence, an international standard conference and training venue.
