Belfast-based Portview has been awarded a £1.4million contract to fit out Harvey Nichols’ first standalone beauty store in Liverpool.
Portview won the contract following a competitive tender and will be working with Four IV to transform the former Habitat store into a Beauty Bazaar offering premium cosmetic brands and services, plus a champagne and cocktail bar. The new 22,000 sq ft store is based on a format created by Four IV for Harvey Nichols Hong Kong and located in the heart of Liverpool’s fashion hub - Liverpool One.
Spanning three floors, the fit out is scheduled to take 15 weeks and finish in early November 2012, with the Portview team being led by contracts manager Paul McGovern.
The scope of work involves preparing the space for the large number of high-profile concessions planned for the Beauty Bazaar, including creating new ceilings with curved bulkheads and lighting troughs, providing a full mechanical and electrical package as well as refurbishing the shop front columns and cladding them with Trespa cladding and mirrored tiles . In addition, the team will provide new porcelain floor tiling from Italy, glass balustrading and a newly-formed frameless glass entrance lobby. They will also prepare the treatment rooms ready for Beyond MediSpa to furnish.
To reflect the premium nature of the Harvey Nichols brand, Portview will be required to source and install a significant amount of high-quality, bespoke products, including ornate columns with a highly-decorative anodised aluminium vertical surface cladding from America.
Speaking about the new contract, Simon Campbell, managing director of Portview said: “We’re delighted to be involved in this exciting new concept, particularly as this is also the first time we have worked with Harvey Nichols. We have vast experience of working with luxury and high-end retail brands, so are looking forward to demonstrating our expertise on this project. Liverpool One is a prime retail site and the perfect home for the new Beauty Bazaar which is sure to be a hit with local shoppers.”
Harvey Nichols group concessions and beauty director, Daniela Rinaldi, who is leading the development of Beauty Bazaar added: “Beauty Bazaar, Harvey Nichols will be the first one-stop destination for all things beauty. This truly unique space, spread across three floors, will house the very best brands in the market, alongside the very latest services that will ensure grooming of the highest level, all within the convenience of a single space.”
