Polypipe Ventilation has announced the launch of its next generation of Domus Radial duct systems.
Domus Radial was introduced by Polypipe Ventilation as an alternative to traditional branch based ducting systems.
Instead, Domus Radial allows each room vent to be served by one duct which connects directly to a central distribution system splitting the air from the Air Handling Unit.
In specific market applications, the system benefits from less air leakage, improved air flow, easier installation and commissioning, plus a quieter system.
As part of its ongoing extensive R&D programme, Polypipe Ventilation has re-engineered Domus Radial to incorporate a new innovative 125mm deep manifold which is less than half the depth of the former version. This ultra slim-line size makes it ideal for installation between loft joists or in tight spaces. The smaller manifold size also allows for greater location flexibility, removing the need to place the manifold adjacent to the centralised appliance.
Originally designed for use with 75mm semi rigid ducting, the new Radial manifold can now also be integrated with Domus rigid duct systems by connecting directly from the centralised appliance through Domus Megaduct 220x90mm or Domus Easipipe Ø150mm ducting. This not only provides the installer with choice but also helps maximise air flow and versatility.
As an added benefit to the homeowner the newly improved Radial system also features a dual outlet plenum, designed to reduce duct resistance and improve appliance operation and efficiency.
As with the previous Domus Radial Duct System, the new system can be used in all domestic properties, but is most suited to larger houses where modern methods of construction may make traditional ducting problematic, e.g. as a result of poor access to voids, or where multiple room extraction is required.
It has been designed for use with whole house ventilation systems which may include heat recovery. Polypipe’s award winning Silavent Green Line HRX range of Mechanical Ventilation with Heat Recovery (MVHR) units is an ideal option. These Energy Saving Trust Best Practice compliant systems boast the highest available heat exchange performance on the SAP Appendix Q register.
Polypipe Ventilation is at the forefront in delivering energy-efficient solutions and plays a vital role in helping customers to achieve the higher levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes by supplying Energy Saving Trust best practice compliant products as part of a fully specifiable solutions package. Polypipe Ventilation’s product offering is backed up with a range of support services, from technical support, web site and literature through to BPEC approved installer training.
