Polypipe Ventilation expands heat recovery range at EcoBuild

Following the successful launch of the Silavent Green Line HRX Mechanical Ventilation Heat Recovery (MVHR) appliance, Polypipe Ventilation will be adding to the range with a highly efficient and larger unit at this year’s Ecobuild.

The new HRX2 features market leading heat exchange efficiency and extremely low specific fan power (SFP) for optimal energy usage whilst still retaining full airflow performance, thereby helping to recover a home’s waste heat and deliver a higher SAP rating.

Suitable for larger properties, the high performance levels of the HRX2 make it ideal for installation in self-build and premium private developments.

Manufactured in the UK, the new 2010 Building Regulations compliant and SAP Q listed HRX appliances have also been designed for simple installation and operation.  They feature a wiring centre external to the unit to prevent moisture damage to the electronics and simplify installation; and a moulded EPP casing to minimise air leakage and provide improved thermal efficiency and noise absorption.  A range of added value options are available, including a 100% summer bypass facility, an optional frost protection system to prevent ice damage and a bespoke condensate drainage kit.

When used with Polypipe’s Domus rigid or semi-rigid duct systems, along with the new Domus Thermal rigid duct insulation - all showcased at Ecobuild - the result is one of the most comprehensive MVHR solutions available in the market.  Guaranteed end to end system performance can be achieved thanks to the exacting manufacturing tolerances of the duct system providing a superior fit for reduced air leakage.

In addition to HRX MVHR solutions and Domus duct systems, Polypipe will also be displaying its Silavent Green Line energy efficient intermittent extract fan range.  Designed to consume less power to comply with Parts F and L of 2010 Building Regulations and help reduce the carbon emissions of new and old properties, the range includes energy efficient centrifugal fans and recently introduced axial fans.  Offering one of the lowest SFPs available, at 0.22 W/(l/s), the 100mm axial range exceeds 2010 Building Regulation requirements, using less power and extracting more air, therefore significantly reducing the build-up of condensation and mould.  Furthermore, when in stand-by mode, the fans use up to 70% less power than other low energy fans which, when combined with the fans low SFP, makes them the most energy efficient range of axial fans available.

The stand will also showcase selected products from the wider Polypipe Group, including Polypipe’s Residential Rain Water Harvesting System and Polystorm water storage cells which can be built to form a structure of any shape or size.

Polypipe Ventilation is at the forefront in delivering energy-efficient solutions and plays a vital role in helping customers to achieve the higher levels of the Code for Sustainable Homes by supplying Energy Saving Trust best practice compliant products as part of a full specifiable solutions package.

Polypipe Ventilation’s product offering is backed up with a range of support services, from technical support, web site and literature through to training.  Polypipe’s latest literature will be available on the stand at Ecobuild; this includes a comprehensive new System and Product Selector, not only packed with product information but also designed to assist in the specification of ventilation systems that meet Building Regulations and save time and money on site.  A new Part F and L brochure, detailing how specific products meet the requirements of the latest Building Regulations, will also be readily available.
