Plastic pallets get off to a flying start at new airport

Durable, long-life plastic pallets from Goplasticpallets.com are helping store and replenish duty free stocks at the new state-of-the-art Hamad International Airport in Doha, which was unveiled to the public last month.

Ten thousand APB 1210 pool pallets from Goplasticpallets.com are being used to transport duty free goods, arriving from all over the world, from the airport’s cargo warehouse to the duty free warehouse, where products are barcoded and stored in the warehouse’s 11,575-bay racking systems, until they are required for display.

Anu Sondhi, General Manager for Qatar’s largest warehouse equipment company Rumaillah Warehouse Equipment W.L.L., said: “From the initial enquiry by our primary sourcing agent HS Marketing Ltd right through to delivery, Goplasticpallets.com has provided excellent advice and exceptional customer service.”

He added: “The pool pallet they recommended had proven performance in racking and automated systems and a long life expectancy, which perfectly matched our requirements. Due to the variety of different packaging involved, Goplasticpallets.com recommended that we take the option of adding four anti-slip strips to the pallets to make them even more versatile.

“This was a hugely important project for us, on a gigantic scale; the new airport will eventually occupy 29 square kilometres, roughly a third of the size of Doha itself, and have an annual capacity of 50 million passengers!

“As we gear up to the Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup, we’re expecting a number of major new developments and we would have no hesitation in working with Goplasticpalles.com again.”
