The NSG Group has unveiled a new concept for achieving triple glazing performance in a double-glazing unit, unique to the Pilkington brand.
It has been specially designed for applications requiring an optimised Ug value.
By using Pilkington K Glass OW on Surface 4 of an IGU, with another low-e glass on surface 2 such as the latest Pilkington Optitherm S1 Plus, it is possible to achieve Ug values as low as 0.9 W/m²K. Put simply you get triple performance but with only two panes of glass.
Pilkington K Glass OW has always been a favourite choice for its flexibility and versatility. It can be used in many applications, where either WERs or Ug values are a consideration, and is usually chosen for its exceptional clarity as well as its environmental performance.
As an advanced form of the original Pilkington K Glass, it provides better light transmission and allows in more free heat from the sun to enable householders to reduce energy usage and save money on heating bills.
To understand more about the new offering there is a video on the Pilkington UK website.
