Peikko’s wind tower foundation solution will be applied in the new Muukko wind park in Lappeenranta, Finland. Muukko wind park is owned by TuuliMuukko Oy, a company owned by TuuliSaimaa Oy and TuuliTapiola ky. It is an inland wind park of 7 pcs of 3MW wind turbines by Alstom.
The project is already under work. The turbines will be installed in the beginning of 2013 and the wind park will be operational in June 2013. The developer in the project is TuuliSaimaa, a respected Finnish wind energy expert and one of the major players in the Finnish wind energy field. The constructor in the project is Keski-Suomen Betonirakenne Oy. Their delivery consists of the foundation and foundation extension in the hybrid tower solution. The foundation concept is based on Peikko’s proven solution and it includes Peikko’s anchoring technology. The use of Peikko’s foundation concept enabled the fast start-up of the site.
“We are extremely happy that we were able to supply our foundation solution to this project with Alstom turbines. This is proof that our foundation solution is accepted by the major players and turbine manufacturers in the field.” states Topi Paananen, CEO of Peikko Group Corporation.
