One of the UK’s leading plant and equipment hire firms has purchased a huge fleet of the latest fuel-saving Tier 4i JCB Loadall telescopic handlers in an order worth more than £7 million.
Nixon Hire has taken delivery of 107 machines with lift heights ranging from 7 to 17 metres. The order includes 531-70, 533-105, 535-125, 535-140 and 540-170 models - all of which are made at JCB's World HQ in Rocester, Staffordshire.
The majority of the machines are already out on hire in construction and materials handling roles on a wide variety of customers’ projects including: civil engineering works, major house building and warehousing projects across the UK.

Developed to meet the EU Stage IIIB/US Tier 4 Interim emissions standards, the JCB Ecomax Tier 4i engine used on the Nixon Hire fleet of JCB Loadalls has no requirement for costly diesel particulate filters (DPFs) or for exhaust after treatment fluids, resulting in low cost, efficient operation for customers. The result is up to 7% improved fuel economy and 15% more torque.
The machine specifications are tailored exactly to the needs of Nixon Hire and its customer base. These latest additions are equipped with air-conditioned cabs – a move which has proved hugely popular with customers.
